The PROTEGO® SA/S is a Floating Suction Unit (FSU) designed for storage tanks where high product purity is essential, such as in the aviation and fossil fuel industries. Unlike standard bottom-draw systems, the SA/S ensures that liquid is drawn from just below the surface, where the product is cleanest. This design effectively prevents the suction of settled water, sediment, and residuals that naturally accumulate at the bottom of the tank, ensuring the highest quality of the transferred media.
The unit is engineered for long-term reliability and features a heavy-duty, maintenance-free swivel joint with life-time lubrication. Its intake is specifically designed to prevent vortex formation and can release trapped air to maintain a steady flow. Constructed from high-quality carbon or stainless steel with 100% pressure-tested stainless steel floats, the SA/S is custom-sized for tanks ranging from 2” to 36” in diameter. It is suitable for horizontal, vertical, fixed-roof, or floating-roof tanks, providing a "Made in Germany" solution for trouble-free tank operation.
