GOETZE-ARMATUREN

Goetze – Cryogenic Safety Valve

Goetze Armaturen offers several series of safety valves for cryogenic applications, with the most prominent being the Series 2400 (stainless steel) and Series 2480 (red brass). These are full-lift, angle-type safety valves designed to protect containers and pipelines storing and transporting cryogenic liquefied gases like LIN, LOX, LAr, CO₂, and LNG.

The safety valves are available in high-alloy stainless steel (Series 2400) or low-lead gunmetal/red brass (Series 2480/2580), making them robust and corrosion-resistant for demanding environments. The valves are specifically designed for low temperatures, with an operating range down to -200 °C (and can be used in systems as low as -270 °C). Their quality is confirmed by approvals for use with gases, vapors, and liquids, including certification according to the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU and standards like DIN EN ISO 4126-1 and DIN EN 13648-1.

They are manufactured as standard to be oil- and grease-free (in accordance with DIN EN 12300), which is a critical requirement for use in oxygen systems. These valves are used in various industries, including food processing, medical technology, and energy generation, for applications such as tunnel freezer plants, dry ice blasting, liquid nitrogen dosing, and ground freezing plants.
